OK! Magazine has decided to print an interview with Britney Spears which could reportedly damage her attempt at a comeback.
Speaking about the decision, editor-in-chief Sarah Ivens said " OK! Magazine spent a heartbreaking day with Britney Spears and witnessed first-hand an emotional cry for help that will leave you shocked and sad."
She said the 25-year-old singer's erratic behavior and unwieldy demands made it impossible for the publication to stick to its usual policy of favorable celebrity portrayals.
Conducted July 19, the three-hour interview reportedly was marred by Spears' erratic behavior and mood swings. She damaged several thousand dollars' worth of designer clothes, at one point wiping grease from fried chicken on an Alicia Levine dress.
Spears reportedly stormed out of the interview after two hours with more than $15,000 of clothing and jewelry hired for the accompanying photo shoot.
OK! Magazine publicist Brian Strong said the magazine didn't publish most of the photos, as they "weren't up to standard."
A representative at Britney Spears' record label, Jive, didn't immediately return a July 25 phone call and e-mails seeking comment.
"This week, on newsstands Friday," said Ivens, "the truth will be told." The issue arrives July 27 in the U.S.
